#97 Personnage méditant sur la folie

Do we
reflect
on mad-

#96 La clef des champs

The key to the
fields was
a phrase employed
by several of
the Surrealists. A
less literal but more
precise translation
would be the door to
freedom, escaping
the asylum. On first
reflection that is what
this broken window
might depict. Except
the glass has
fallen inwards.

#94 The Man with the Newspaper

for Hannah Weiner

Each depends
upon the other. The
man with the news-
paper, the room
pretending
he isn't there.

#93 The Threshold of the Forest

In the march
of civilization
there may
come a time
when the
artifical forest
is indistinguishable
from the
natural city.

#92 The Difficult Crossing

Hand holds the
frightened messenger. Even
the bilboquet looks
scared. Lightning; &
waves that reach
across the ship
to shake hands on
the other side. Walls wait
with spaces cut
to hold the windows.
Later the curtain
will come down.
