#104 The Black Flag

The memories react
to basalt, the machines
remain the models
they once were.

#103 Collective Invention

She has legs &
feet. So. Instead of
lying there deprived
of breath it might
seem reasonable
to think she would
try to stand &
see if that allowed
an easier flow of
air into her gills.
Except. Pushing
herself upright is
probably impossible
when she only has
fins to do it with.

#102 Philosophy in the Bedroom #2

Some times
we keep
our fetishes
in the closet.

Sometimes
we wear
them out.

#101 Philosophy in the Bedroom

The usually con-
cealed placed
outside. Flesh
on fabric, as if
the clothing were
internal. & we
have nowhere else
to look except
away. Which means
at some point
we have already
looked inside
ourselves. Were
frightened off by
what we found there.

In this fromage to
Jacques Louis David
Magritte has
copied his portrait
of Madame Récamier
in intricate detail
right down to
the shy smile & the
burnished bronze
of the coffin handles.

reflect

#96 La clef des champs

The key to the
fields was
a phrase employed
by several of
the Surrealists. A
less literal but more
precise translation
would be the door to
freedom, escaping
the asylum. On first
reflection that is what
this broken window
might depict. Except
the glass has
fallen inwards.

#94 The Man with the Newspaper

for Hannah Weiner

Each depends
upon the other. The
man with the news-
paper, the room
pretending
he isn't there.
